Conference on information ethics in Africa to take place next week in Botswana
UNESCO sponsors an international conference on information ethics in Africa, which will be hosted by the University of Botswana on 6 and 7 September 2010 in Gaborone. The third in the series of such events, the conference will focus on research and future development of African information ethics curricula.

Educating journalists as architects of democracy
UNESCO, in partnership with the Governance and AIDS Programme of Idasa (Idasa-GAP), is organizing a two-day meeting to launch a community of practice on innovations in journalism education. The meeting will be held on 2 and 3 September 2010 in Cape Town (South Africa).

Honduras: UNESCO Director-General condemns murder of radio journalist Israel Zelaya Diaz
The Director-General of UNESCO, Irina Bokova, condemned the murder of the Honduran radio journalist Israel Zelaya Diaz, killed on 24 August, and called on Honduran authorities to take action against the surge of violence targeting local journalists since the beginning of the year.
